01-Concept & Vision is the initial curatorial phase.

At this stage, we focus on understanding the space, its context and purpose, and on defining a clear conceptual direction before any design or sourcing decisions are made.

This phase establishes the foundation of the project and informs all subsequent steps.

This phase may include:

  • definition of spatial direction and key principles

  • atmospheric and conceptual framework

  • visual and contextual references

  • material and color orientation

  • curatorial recommendations for further development

This phase is essential for projects where clarity, authorship and long-term coherence are required.

This phase provides the foundation for the subsequent stages of the project.

PROJECT APPROACH

How Maison Sand Works

Maison Sand approaches each project as a structured, curatorial process.
Our work is not divided into services, but into phases, each addressing a specific level of decision-making — from vision to realization.

Not every project requires all phases.
The scope is defined individually, based on context, scale and intention.

02 — CURATED DIRECTION

Based on the established concept, we develop a refined curatorial direction for the project.

At this stage, vision is translated into structured decisions that define the character of the space. We work with atmosphere, objects, materials and light as interconnected elements, ensuring coherence and clarity across all aesthetic layers.

This phase focuses on aligning intention with tangible choices, while remaining flexible to context and feasibility.

This phase may include:

  • curated selection of furniture, lighting and materials

  • definition of atmosphere and light direction

  • integration of art, vintage or signature objects when appropriate

  • material logic and aesthetic consistency

  • consideration of sourcing options and alternatives

Curated Direction ensures that aesthetic decisions are intentional, grounded and aligned with the overall framework of the project.

03 - SOURCING & COORDINATION

Sourcing & Coordination supports the transition from concept to realization.

Maison Sand works alongside designers, architects and suppliers to maintain the integrity of the curatorial direction throughout implementation. Our role is not to replace project teams, but to ensure that key decisions remain consistent as the project moves forward.

This phase focuses on continuity, clarity and alignment between all involved parties.

This phase may include:

  • coordination with design and architectural partners

  • guidance on sourcing and supplier selection

  • review of key elements during implementation

  • curatorial oversight to ensure coherence with the original concept

The objective of this phase is not control, but consistency — allowing the project to be realized as intended.

Each project begins with a conversation.

If you are developing a space where clarity of decisions, atmosphere and long-term coherence matter, we invite you to share a few details about your project.
